My New Year's Resolutions

It's officially 2014. I can't believe it. Maybe it's because I'm getting old or maybe it's because I had a crazy rough year last year, time went so quickly. This time last year honestly feels like a month or so ago. Although I can't believe it's a new year, I'm quite happy it's come around so fast. I can forget all the bad of 2013 and turn over a fresh shiny new leaf. It may be cliché but it feels amazing to be able to start afresh.

I've never been one for new year's resolutions but this year, I want something to stick to, something to read this time next year and say, well done Ciara, you did it. I think it'd be a rather lovely feeling to have that sense of achievement. The following, slightly disorganized, thoughts are my resolutions for this bright, shiny and hopefully happy new year!

1. Live the New Year for Myself

I want to do more things for me. I spend almost every second of my life trying to make those that I love happy. I'm being completely genuine when I say it breaks my heart to see someone I love sad or upset. Unfortunately, this isn't always a good trait. It's meant that I very often push my own needs and wants to one side. I could spend a whole week being there for someone else, staying up late at night, eating at weird hours. That makes me feel so icky. This year, I want to do things for me and feel happy and healthy at all times.

2. Be Healthy

In the last few days I've been bombarded with advertisements for the newest, most amazing weight-loss product. They all say the same thing. We make you lose three times the weight you'd lose alone, blah, blah, blah. I'd love to lose some weight this year but ultimately I just want to be healthy. I want to feel happy both inside and out. I want to eat all the right foods and exercise just as much as those experts recommend.

3. Blog

This is my second post on Enchanting and Elegant, therefore, blogging is a very new thing for me. I intend to keep it going though. One of my resolutions is to continue to blog and enjoy it.

4. Be Organized

My course at University is far from easy. With regular 9-6 days you have to be more than organized. Once you fall behind it becomes so, so difficult to catch up. In 2014 I want everything to be perfectly organized, from my notes to my diary, everything will be perfect. I'll study when I plan to study and do assignments well ahead of time in order to avoid that dreaded all-nighter.

Well, they're all my resolutions. I didn't want to have too many because ultimately it gets harder to stick to so many. Let's hope that this time next year I'll have ticked all these things off my list and have a while new set ready to go for the year ahead.

Bye for Now!

Love,

Ciara

I relate to this so much! It's hard being like that but sometimes you just don't notice and you're left feeling a bit half empty. I've been trying to think for me rather than think for other people.

Btw love your blog name! Love the word "Enchant" and "elegant" :)
